Paulo Henrique Ott

Biologist

Graduated in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul - UFRGS (1995), with a master's degree in Biosciences (Zoology) from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (1998) and a PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology from UFRGS (2002).

He completed part of his PhD at the "Natural Resources DNA Profiling and Forensic Centre" in Canada. Since 2007, he has been an adjunct professor at the State University of Rio Grande do Sul (Uergs), where he supervises undergraduate and graduate students. He is also a researcher and one of the founders of the Group for the Study of Aquatic Mammals of Rio Grande do Sul (GEMARS), where he has been active since 1991. He has expertise in zoology, ecology, and genetics, focusing primarily on the study and conservation of marine and coastal fauna, with special attention to threatened species and protected areas.
