Biologist
Graduated in Biological Sciences (Bachelor's in Ecology) from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (1992) and Doctor in Biosciences (Zoology) from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (2003)
He works as an Environmental Analyst at the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (ICMBio), assigned to the Integrated Management Nucleus ICMBio Florianópolis. His work focuses on Conservation Biology, with an emphasis on Animal Ecology, Population Biology, Behavioral Ecology, and Population Genetics of cetaceans (especially Sotalia guianensis, Tursiops truncatus, and Pontoporia blainvillei dolphins, as well as the southern right whale Eubalaena australis). He executes and/or collaborates on 13 scientific research projects, mainly developed to conserve cetaceans and their habitats, including support for and promotion of Conservation Units and other protected areas.
