Magdalena Arias
Biologist
Magdalena Arias obtained her degree and PhD in Biological Sciences and is a Scientific Researcher at the National Council for Scientific and Technical Research of Argentina (CONICET).
She also works as a Professor at the National University of Comahue. Her research focuses on marine mammals, particularly cetaceans, and their interactions with human activities, such as tourism. Her work covers population ecology, behavioral ecology, and modeling, with the aim of generating essential information for conservation and management actions, as well as mitigating the negative impacts of human activities. Her main publications include assessments of the population dynamics of whales and the potential impacts of tourism on whales.
