Gephyreus Project releases Newsletter #4

The Gephyreus Project has released the fourth edition of its newsletter, featuring some of the main scientific, institutional and conservation achievements related to the Lahille's bottlenose dolphin during the first months of 2026.

This issue highlights the approval of a CMS Concerted Action for the species during CMS COP15, the Gephyreus Project's participation in the International Whaling Commission (IWC) Scientific Committee, the publication of a new Biological Conservation study on the species' population dynamics, and the launch of the "Estuário dos Saberes" web series.

The newsletter also features a special article on the mission carried out by specialists from the National Marine Mammal Foundation (NMMF) to southern Brazil, marking an important step toward the development of a long-term health program for the Lahille's bottlenose dolphin.

Additional stories cover the recognition of cooperative fishing with dolphins as Brazilian Intangible Cultural Heritage, scientific exchanges between research teams and new collaborative initiatives led by the Gephyreus Project and partner institutions.
