Biólogo
Biologe (UFSC), mit einem Doktortitel in Zoologie (UFPR) und Postdoktorat in Archäologie am Museu Nacional/UFRJ. Er hat seine Doktorarbeit in Zooarchäologie von Meeressäugetieren, einschließlich der Gattung Tursiops, durchgeführt.
Since 2007, he has been a professor at the University of the State of Santa Catarina (UDESC), teaching in the undergraduate programs (Fishing Engineering and Biological Sciences) and the Graduate Program in Territorial Planning and Socioenvironmental Development (PPGPLAN). He has participated in working groups at IBAMA and ICMBio focused on the conservation of marine mammals and is a collaborator in the National Action Plan for the Conservation of Tucuxis and Small Cetaceans - PAN, from ICMBio. He has been part of REMASUL since 2012, working on the Strandings Protocol of the Whale Sanctuary of the Franca Whale. He is a certified instructor by ICMBio/CMA for disentangling and rescuing large cetaceans. Since 2015, he has been the coordinator of Section 1 of the Beach Monitoring Project of the Santos Basin, executed by UNIVALI. He has developed research related to osteology, emerging diseases, ecology, distribution, and behavior of small and large cetaceans.
